Autograph Grading Scale

CGP 10: An autograph that is 100% visible and considered virtually perfect. No skipping, retracing, fading or smudges. It is clear, bold and perfect to the naked eye and virtually perfect under a high-powered magnification device.

CPG 9: An autograph that is 95-100% visible that is considered a Super-High-End autograph with an unrecognizable skip or smudge to the naked eye but determined when using a high-powered magnification device.

CPG 8: An autograph that is 90-95% visible that is considered a High-End autograph but has a noticeable skip in the autograph, minor boldness issue, slight fading but to the naked eye almost perfect. Light bleed on one of the letters is acceptable. An autograph in an undesirable location affecting the eye appeal as well.

CPG 7: An autograph that is still 80-90% visible but shows a minor blemish, significant skipping or bleeding may be present. Slight retrace by the original signer is acceptable.

CPG 6: An autograph that is still 80% visible but shows minor fading, minor blemishes and retrace by the original signer is acceptable.

CPG 5: An autograph that is still 80% visible to the naked eye but has lost its bold look and luster. Smudging in a limited area and or skipping with minor areas and blemishes present.

CPG 4: An autograph that is still 70% visible to the naked eye but has letters faded and can only be determined using high-powered magnification. To the naked eye it is not determined.

CPG 3: An autograph that is still 60% visible to the naked eye that has been faded throughout the signature.

CPG 2: An autograph that is still 50% visible to the naked eye with the autograph not fully decipherable.

CPG 1: An autograph that is barely deciphered and has little to no eye appeal. May require advanced high-powered magnification in order to identify the autograph.

CPG Authentic: This CPG designation is for those who prefer a straight encapsulated card without any grade. CPG uses this designation for both the CPG witnessed autograph cards and trading card company guaranteed cards.

Authentication and Witnessed Autographs Services

CPG does not authenticate or make many opinions of autographs. CPG does Witnessed and Confirm Private & Public Autograph Signings and Encapsulates Autograph Cards as Witnessed Only.

CPG works with the World Leading Third Party Authenticators who make opinions and verify autographs. 

CPG is an Authorized Dealer for PSA/DNA, Beckett (BAS) and JSA. 

Third Party Verified - An autographed trading card or sticker that has been third-party verified and guaranteed authentic by either PSA/DNA, Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) or JSA Authenticated. 

Pack Pulled - An autographed trading card or sticker that is pack pulled or is a factory direct autographed card that is guaranteed authentic by Fanatics, Panini, Topps, Upper Deck, Leaf or Major Trading Card Company.  

Witnessed - An autograph trading card of sticker that has been witnessed by a CPG Representative in-person. CPG will grade the autograph either Authentic, CPG 9 or CPG only.
